Silverhead (1972 - 1974)

"Rolling With My Baby" promo video

Silverhead released two studio albums, Silverhead (1972) and 16 And Savaged (1973).

After extensive touring in Europe, USA and Japan, the band broke up in July 1974. A third album (working title Brutiful) with songs such as "James Dean" and "Marilyn", was never finished.

Guitarist Nigel Harrison:
"Silverhead was together three years, we did five tours of America and toured Europe and Japan playing to as many as 25,000 people. It was the epitome of being in a rock band - we worked ourselves to death."

Drummer Pete Thompson:
"We toured the world with Uriah Heep because Silverhead supported every major band that was touring the major stadiums at that time between '72 and '74. That's how I got to play every stadium in America. We were the world's biggest support band and we headlined in Japan and we had 2 albums in the charts at the same time, so we were big business in Japan."
